All About Floor Mats for Mercedes-Benz
According to Way, replacing the carpets in your car or SUV can run anywhere from a couple hundred dollars to $500 or more. In fact, have the pros at a dealer do the job, and you might be looking at paying something more like $1,100 plus -- sometimes, over $2,500, if your car or SUV has some special layout (like the case of having to get floor liners replaced at the same time). Upwards of $600 worth of that could just be for the mechanic's time alone.
Our advice, to keep costs like that down: protect your car floors as well as you can, by replacing any floor mats that are torn or crumpled. Do that before they let dirt and muck do any seriously pricey damage. Even better: upgrade the mats. They can run as few as tens of dollars, sometimes just a few hundred. And best way to keep the cost of replacing them down? Take care of them; clean them weekly to monthly. Carpet floor mats, you can shake any debris out of, vacuum, and scrub with either oxygen bleach and water, a commercial spray-on carpet cleaner, or good old-fashioned soap and water; rubber/vinyl floor mats, you can spray off with garden hose or scrub with soap and water, avoiding harsh chemicals that damage rubber and silicone sprays that might make the mats too slippery.
Need floor liners installed along with the mats, though? That's a tricky job sometimes, one best left to a Mercedes-Benz service center. Get in touch with one to schedule a service appointment if you like.
